It's primetime for a new Mike Patton release!
Somehow, somewhere, Patton has time to read books. He was inspired after reading the Paolo Giordano novel, "The Solitude of Prime Numbers". He was asked to contribute music to the film version of the Italian literary sensation. This release includes music for the film as well as music inspired by the novel. This collection boasts a cinematic feel that allows instruments an individual voice, emphasizes isolated notes and subtly transitions from piece to piece, acutely capturing the introspective and reflective feel of the novel. The album's intricate packaging further conveys this dramatic and minimalistic approach, with a multi-panel digipak featuring a leaf cut out, embossed with a locking mechanism. Reason alone to seek out the physical CD!
A truly unique and important release in the Patton catalog of releases."The Solitude of Prime Numbers" is out worldwide on 11/1/11.
Happy Holidays from our friends at Tzadik Records
The biggest surprise of the year is John Zorn’s beautiful Christmas CD. Zorn has hand picked seven of his favorite Christmas songs, penned two lovely originals and they are performed here in classic Dreamers style with plenty of exciting solos, exotic colors and catchy lyricism. Filled with a joyful holiday spirit, innocence, a touch of nostalgia and a charming lyricism, this is music for all ages that will make you smile with delight from the very first notes. As a special treat, Mike Patton delivers an intimate and heartfelt rendition of “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire,” making A Dreamers Christmas an instant classic, and an essential CD for any contemporary Christmas celebration. Planning a summer beach party? Looking to keep bodies on the dance floor? If so, you ought to look elsewhere. Bohren & der Club of Gore are back with a new mini CD, "Beileid". The third time we have released one of the German band's dark and beautiful releases. Always an office favorite for us. This one includes a cover of the song "Catch My Heart" originally by metal legends Warlock, that features our own Mike Patton on vocals. "Beileid" is a must for fans of doom/ambient/dark/jazz music. Please use sunscreen.

The latest release from the Book of Knots, "Garden of Fainting Stars" is here!
For those of you that are not in the know, this is a collection of some of the most talented musicians you will find anywhere. A supergroup that would make Asia blush! Matthias Bossi (Skeleton Key, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum), Joel Hamilton (producer/engineer), Carla Kihlstedt (Tin Hat Trio, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum) and Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu, Frank Black) have created another recording of orchestrated, warped bombast. "Garden..." is the final chapter of the bands "By Sea, By Land, By Air" trilogy. Follow the story in this beautifully cinematic climax. The Book of Knots once again cast a wormless, rusty hook into the lifeless seas of the music industry, expecting to reap only sorrow. We are honored to be passengers for the voyage.
