“Roc for Raida” Benefit Mixtape
Hey people! Here is a great cause to support courtesy of our friend DJ Rob Swift. Rob has just released an amazing mixtape called "Roc for Raida" in tribute to his friend and fellow DJ and X-ecutioner, Roc Raida, who passed away 2 years ago. The proceeds for the mixtape benefit Raida's family (wife and 3 kids). The tape features legendary DJs doing some of the most memorable Raida routines compiled by Rob. In addition to all of the influential collaborations that Raida was part of he was also the 1995 DMC World DJ champ.

It's primetime for a new Mike Patton release!
Somehow, somewhere, Patton has time to read books. He was inspired after reading the Paolo Giordano novel, "The Solitude of Prime Numbers". He was asked to contribute music to the film version of the Italian literary sensation. This release includes music for the film as well as music inspired by the novel. This collection boasts a cinematic feel that allows instruments an individual voice, emphasizes isolated notes and subtly transitions from piece to piece, acutely capturing the introspective and reflective feel of the novel. The album's intricate packaging further conveys this dramatic and minimalistic approach, with a multi-panel digipak featuring a leaf cut out, embossed with a locking mechanism. Reason alone to seek out the physical CD!
A truly unique and important release in the Patton catalog of releases."The Solitude of Prime Numbers" is out worldwide on 11/1/11.
Happy Holidays from our friends at Tzadik Records
The biggest surprise of the year is John Zorn’s beautiful Christmas CD. Zorn has hand picked seven of his favorite Christmas songs, penned two lovely originals and they are performed here in classic Dreamers style with plenty of exciting solos, exotic colors and catchy lyricism. Filled with a joyful holiday spirit, innocence, a touch of nostalgia and a charming lyricism, this is music for all ages that will make you smile with delight from the very first notes.
